Seymour Demonstration Forest

Located in the North Shore Lower Seymour Conservation Reserve this area epitomizes the West Coast. This route has over 40 km of roads and recreational paths that wind through a beautiful diverse forest that crosses numerous scenic creeks and streams.

The Seymour Demonstration Forest is a 5,200-hectare park located in the spectacular mountains of the North Shore. It is equivalent in size to 14 Stanley Parks. Between 1870 and 1900 it was a logging and mining site. Now its an outdoor classroom for the world to see. The park demonstrates a sustainable balance of recreation and resource through interpretive trails, educational tours and tourism programs.

The forest receives more than 300,000 visitors each year. It is a great place to go ride your bike, hike, fish in a secluded lake, bird watch or have a picnic in the woods.

Paddle Indian Arm

After cycling through the forests on the North Shore why not stop for lunch in picturesque Deep Cove then paddle Indian Arm.

Deep Cove is one of two jumping-off points for exploring Indian Arm by canoe or kayak, a steep-sided, 18-mile (30-km) fjord that branches north from Burrard Inlet just east of the Second Narrows Bridge. You can explore the south end of Indian Arm, including the islands that comprise Indian Arm Provincial Marine Park, in the course of a day, or set out on an extended two- to four-day circumnavigation of the coastal inlet. The best time to paddle here is between April and October.

Walk around historic Deep Cove

Take a walking tour through the historic hamlet and explore an area steeped in history.

This walking trip will allow you toexperience some of the places that makes Deep Cove the wonderful seaside community it is today. From a War Canoe of the Sleil-waututh to the location where squatter shacks once housed Malcom Lowery - there's a lot to discover about Deep Cove and Seymour's history.
